Toronto, Ontario -- May 10, 2011 -- There will be a workshop on the evening of Wed., May 11 for collision repair facility owners and operators. Collision repair trade association and collision repair and auto refinish companies and suppliers agreed to hold a one-evening workshop because of the demand from shops for more information to improve their profitability and to ensure compliance standards.

Starting at 7:30 pm at the North York Civic Centre, collision repair facility owners and operators can ask questions on new products and services, meet with vendors, and hear up-to-date information on how to avoid fines and penalties from various government ministries.

Sponsored by the Hamilton District Autobody Repair Association (HARA) and autobody distributor Paint Circuit, the event consists of a series of presentations and viewing of display tables. Shop owners are invited to bring questions for the guest speakers.

Information on federal guaranteed shop and equipment loans and on grants and incentives or apprenticeship hiring will be covered. The City of Toronto’s chemTRAC bodyshop reporting program is also highlighted and shops can learn what that may mean to them.

Presentations are planned from paint suppliers, spray gun and gun wash company reps, trade association staff and city and provincial staff on how they can best help your shop.

Other topics covered will be the blitz of over 820 shops by the Ministry of Labour and what they discovered, what a Certificate of Approval is and how to best handle and apply waterborne paint products, the Ministry of Environment’s plans for an autobody shop registry?

All shops are invited to the North York Civic Centre for this free event at 5100 Yonge Street, Toronto.
